EMA Foundation is a global nonprofit focused on maternal health, education access, and community development across underserved regions. While their work was expanding, their digital presence was falling behind—outdated visuals, unclear messaging, and a website that didn’t reflect the scale or impact of their mission.

[THE CHALLENGE]

EMA’s previous site lacked emotional resonance and clarity.

Their impact was buried in PDFs, stories were scattered across social media, and donation flows were clunky. There was no clear path for users to understand their work or get involved.


We needed to:

- Elevate the brand while preserving its sincerity and grassroots heart

- Design a website that inspires trust and encourages exploration

- Centralize their content strategy around storytelling and transparency

- Improve donation UX and make impact tangible for contributors

Brand Refresh: Grounded, Human, Global

We retained the foundation’s core essence — community, care, and dignity—while evolving its visual identity to better reflect its global reach and growing partnerships.

Developed a warm, earthy color palette grounded in real-world textures

Updated typography with modern serif + humanist sans combinations for approachability and clarityCreated a flexible icon and illustration system for program categories (health, education, food security, etc.)Introduced motion gently—subtle transitions and scroll effects to add life without overwhelming.


Messaging and Storytelling System


We structured messaging to speak to three audiences: donors, partners, and volunteers—making sure each found a clear reason to care and act.
